We are delighted to inform you that Clash Gour wind farm successfully bid for the Allocation Round 5 for the UK Government’s Contract for Difference, announced on Friday 8 September.
The CfD scheme is a UK government mechanism which supports low-carbon electricity generation. It does this by providing developers with a stabilised price for their electricity output, and protecting them from fluctuating wholesale prices. This incentivises investment and shields consumers from paying support costs when electricity prices are high.
This now allows EDF to develop the project with more confidence and EDF will keep stakeholders updated over the coming months as they start to ramp up activity, entering the project’s construction phase.
EDF are keen to speak to local people to learn more about the impact the project could have on the communities close to the wind farm, understanding that any change to the project can raise questions, and EDF are committed to transparent stakeholder engagement and regular communication.
If you would like to be updated about the project as it progresses, please email your name, address, telephone number and email address to: clashgourwindfarm@edf-re.uk
