Alastair Kennedy

Alastair Kennedy

Alastair Kennedy lives in Elgin with his wife of 53 years Sheila, surrounded by family including three great-grandchildren. Alastair has been involved in the community since becoming a Community Councillor around 2003 and he now chairs Elgin Community Council and the Joint Community Councils of Moray (JCC), and considers himself a “community activist” through his work in various voluntary groups. Alastair has set up several successful groups over the years including a Participatory Budgeting Group which has undertaken several successful participatory budgeting exercises, including by the invitation of the Scottish Government to participate in spending £1/3 million on helping community groups transition away from fossil fuels and towards renewables. 

Alastair’s interest in setting up an organisation suitable for community investment in renewable energy stemmed from the 2019 ‘Energising Communities’ conference held in Moray.

Anne Skene

Anne Skene

Anne Skene has enjoyed a full career as a teacher and manager of provision for children with Additional Support Needs.  For 20 years she ran her own education business which provided consultancy, instruction and teacher training both in Scotland and internationally.  She has a long history of involvement and holding office in a variety of community groups and is an experienced board member.   She has recently been a Moray Councillor for the Forres Ward with responsibility for chairing the Children and Young People’s Services Committee and is presently Chair of the Findhorn and Kinloss Community Council.  She is very involved with building and developing a school centre in western Kenya.

Fabio Villani

Fabio Villani

Fabio Villani is an active citizen working – paid and unpaid – on all aspects of sustainability and regeneration. With over 40 years’ experience in business and community development, complemented by post-graduate level qualifications in social sciences and leadership, he is a highly motivated, dynamic social entrepreneur, with direct experience of partnership working, community engagement and capacity-building, and a strong interest in collaborative approaches to leadership. Born in Rome, Fabio moved to Scotland in 1982, setting up his first business in cabinet-making and furniture restoration.

Discovering the joys of facilitation in 1999 changed his life and career direction, leading him to start his second business, specialising in facilitation and community development. This led to a number of exciting community development and leadership roles in both the third and the public sector, culminating in his current role on the Leadership Team of tsiMORAY. Fabio is a firm believer in the value of peer-led learning and non-directive leadership; he is never happier than when facilitating collaborative working and learning.

Alex Walker

Alex Walker

Alex Walker is a sustainability consultant and social entrepreneur who has lectured widely on the prospects for a low carbon economy. He is currently a director of Findhorn Wind Park, and chairman of Ekopia Social Investments Ltd, which supports numerous social enterprises in Moray. He is also a board member of Development Trusts Association Scotland.

Michelle Gillibrand

Michelle Gillibrand

Michelle Gillibrand brings a wealth of experience in community and leisure development and managing European Funded Projects. She strongly believes in an holistic approach when it comes to supporting others and employs this ethos in whatever group or organisation she is associated with.

She was one of the key workers who supported the organisation and promotion of the Enterprising Communities Conference held in 2019, which ultimately spear-headed the formation of Community Energy Moray. Michelle is now the Development Manager at Forres Area Community Trust which aims to make the Forres area a better place to live, work and visit.

Charlotte Goodwin

Charlotte Goodwin

Charlotte Goodwin is a Director of Community Energy Moray and the organisation’s Project Administrator.   She has a long background in the renewables and sustainability sectors, having worked as an Environmental Consultant for many years managing Environmental Impact Assessments for major wind farm projects for clients including NPower and RES.  She also helped deliver renewables projects as a project developer with Ecotricity.  Charlotte now enjoys life in the north of Scotland supporting several local charities and social enterprises in delivering their aims and objectives.  She enjoys getting out and about in her camper van as often as possible enjoying the beautiful Scottish countryside.
Stephen Kelly

Stephen Kelly

After studying Mechanical Engineering in Glasgow, Stephen Kelly moved South where he spent several years working in a family business team learning all aspects of running a small business. Returning North, he was a founding member of Highland Wholefoods Workers Co-operative where he remained for 20 years prior to taking up a position as Membership & Community Manager with CWS Scottish Co-op, now The Co-operative Group. In his spare time, he served as a trustee of a national children’s & young person’s charity, and was a credit union treasurer for 20 years, having been a founding member of the then Inverness Credit Union. He takes a keen interest and is experienced in Co-op & community development and is a member of GlenWyvis Community Benefit Society, Isle of Eigg Brewery Community Benefit Society, Dingwall Wind Co-op, Highland Community Energy Society and is currently the most northerly based member of the Community Energy development team at Energy4All.

Community Energy Moray is supported by Energy4All.  Energy4All has been closely involved in the development of Community Energy Moray, and manages the day-to-day operations of the organisation through a management contract.

EDF Renewables and Force 9 Energy

Community Energy Moray is working with EDF Renewables via its development partner, Force 9 Energy, to enable community investment in the 48 turbine Clash Gour wind farm south of Forres in Moray. The project will be built, owned and operated by EDF Renewables UK.
